Default Sleeve Help

hey guys. so i got my h22a ready to be rebuilt and was thinking to myself, why put it back together with frm walls that will burn oil and not sleeve while i have the block out? so i came up with the two best. darton and golden eagle. i found these

http://www.k20tuned.com/xcart/produc...&cat=0&page=13

would this be a good buy to you guys? im not looking to bore bigger or anything, just to get rid of those oil slipping frm walls.

Little cheaper but somewhere in this price range. The expensive part is getting them installed correctly and machine shop labor. Is this a high HP build? or just want iron sleeves?

fyi you know you can run stock pistons anymore. you will need forged pistons to run in this also so this will cost you money. I would just rehone to make sure you are out of round and just buy new rings. Losts of people run stock sleeves and dont leak oil. Just might have bad piston rings

thanks guys. im just looking to get rid of the frm sleeves. i know honing and new rings will fix it but i have a friend that did that 4 months ago and now hes burning again. mostly when vtec hits. so i will have to get forged? im not to savvy yet at this. why cant i use stock if the size is the same? to much friction or something?

you are going to burn a lil of oil when going into vtec alot that is commone in H motors. the reason you cant run stock H pistons in steel sleeves is the type of material that are being used. Stock sleeves are FRM sleeves which is a different materail. If you use regular H pistons on steel sleeves it will cause some serious damage. If your not going to be doing anything major just rehone and get new rings. If you want to sleeve it and be able to have access to more different types of pistons sleeve them and you cant get forged pistons of the shelf. You will pay more to sleeve and get new pistons and rings but it may be better if you have future plans of drag racing with the car

I'm just ahead of you on the rebuild on a h22, G.E. is doing my block. Figured might aswell do it right and spend the money now or later. Stock sleeves and pistons aren't for turbo.

could you post the info on a shop that would hone these blocks. i looked for months. they have to use a special stone and do it a certain way and i couldn't find a shop that would touch it. even shops that had been in business for 40+ years. ended up with a sleeved block but i do have another one id like to get rebuilt.

Unless you are building a full race motor then anything more than our 300 series sleeves will be overkill. Since you already have a closed deck block there is no need to run a very large sleeve. Unless you plan on running more than 30 psi or a much larger bore then the 300 series sleeves will work and a fraction of the cost of a larger sleeve. The 300 series sleeve is the same style sleeve we supply Dart with on all of their Honda blocks so you know they will work for your application. Since they are a standard sleeve you can have just about any good machine shop install them or you can send it to either of our 2 locations. email me for more info.

Get LA sleeves... I can get any block sleeved for 800... There are some cheaper pistons that will work like YCP, Next up will be JE or Srp or you can plan on some boost and get Arias pistons

LA sleeves can hold just as much as darton or Ge and are very high quality... PFI has a F20c running like 1200whp on them

No Honda stock block comes with steel sleeves. All Honda blocks have either a low strength cast iron sleeves or a FRM aluminum bore.
