whats the best swap for a 93 prelude si?
Ok, Ive got a 1993 Prelude Si and it had an H23A1 up until about an hour ago i had a bad valve that broke off and caused the engine to sieze up. Anyway, now of course I need a new motor and I was wondering what the best swap would be? I loved the torque that the H23 put out so im thinking an H23 block with the H22 vtec head? or f22? or something else I dont know about?
want torque? go k24.

I'm considering it in my 5th gen cause I'm itching for a new project.

i wanna have something i can build. and i dont wanna have to do a lot of fabricating to get the engine in. like i said i like the torque that the h23 had so im guessing the easiest swap would be the h23 block with an h22 vtec head?
is it an easy swap? i imagine ive gotta change the obvious **** like transmission, axles, ecu, but what about mounts, fuel lines, and shift linkage?

^No requires the things you said you weren't willing to do like some fab work, the passenger mount bracket in the bay has to be cut out and re-welded in a new spot if I'm not mistaken. Just get a H22a, you'll be very happy with it, it's the easiest option.

^This, H22 is a straight swap, only thing you would need to do is wire in VTEC and there is a write up around here on how to do it. A lil bit more torque than an H23 in the higher end of the power band and also has a higher redline. You perfer your 2.3L than get an H23A VTEC, you can get either swaps at Hmotorsonline.com at a good price.
