rear brakes question
ok may be a noob question but now Im confused. I ownboth LX and EX bodies. I just got an LX body and Im swicthing all my EX stuff over due to the accident. I was in the middle of removing my rear brakes from the ex to put on the lx when I decided to look at something really quick on the LX. I noticed the LX already has rear discs on it. Needless to say I was happy as hell and surprised. My question is this, I was always under the impression that only the EX came with rear disc brakes. Is this true? If not is there a certain model and year that it was put out other than the EX? I checked under the hood and there is no ABS system there so if they did a swap they never brought the full thing over which I dont mind I hate ABS anyways. But would like to know what you guys think or have to say.
I am not sure about earlier Accords but on the '98-'02 4 cyl models, only the EX had rear discs, and all disc brake cars had ABS. All V6 cars had rear discs, regardless of whether they were LX or EX. If your LX is a 4cyl car, then some previous owner did the rear disc brake swap.
yeah thats what I figured, because I have never seen a 94-97 4cyl. accord LX with rear disc brakes unless they have been swapped out. And since it doesnt have the abs in the engine compartment then it was obvious. What did look weird for me was that they were connected in the rear. So I am going to have to see if they ran it completely or just left it under the shield in the rear.
