accel coil

Default accel coil

hi just wanted to know if anyone has used the accel coil that fits under the distributor cap. was thinking about getting one for a little more spark. thanks

you generally dont notice any difference, it just happened to be cheaper on amazon than other coils at autozone, advance etc

i have one as well. same as above, didn't notice any difference but my other coil was old and this was recommended by my tuner

thanks guys, just figured it would be better then my stock coil. the accel is supposed to have 20% more voltage. thanks again friends for your quick responses.

hi i was just looking on ebay, for the accel coil and it say ballast resistor not included, does that mean it will not work without the resistor? and where do i get the resistor if i decide to buy the coil, and how do i hook up the resister? thanks

AFAIK, the coil was the ONLY thing that came with mine when i bought, and was a "in and out" replacement job

Stock Honda ignitions are very very good. Upgrading any parts to them general never lead to any performance gains

i figured i would get the accel coil because i read somewhere that honda coils are weak, so i figured the accel would give a little more spark. so if i buy the coil i wont need a resistor? thanks everybody

Gee, that's funny, i have owned about 50 Honda's now, been driving them for 20 years, even had NOS on a couple of them with stock ignitions and coils, no issues
