Hey guys, so im new to tegs and b series.
So im looking at getting This DA with a b16 swap, has new pistons and rings, ebay turbo kit but has garret turbo and drag manifold. Has new paint, door jams, but engine bay is still the same. Honed block, milled head, all new gaskets, tuned p28, running 12lb boost. Iv never owned a car thats boosted so whats are some things to look for before buying?
He wants 3500 so seems kinda fishy why hes asking such a low price, or is that a good price?

I know theres a previous thread on "what to look for when buying a turbo Honda". Search for it would be your best bet.

 

Things to look for
-burn oil
-leak oil
-shaft play on turbo
-missfire/hesitate at all (idle or WOT)
-does it looked hacked together or put together nice
-ask about the internals and what they are b16s have high compression and thats not a good thing when adding boost

 

Buying projects = FAIL

 

sweet thanks guys. Yeah he has low compression pistons and thats it. does 12psi seem too much for a b16?

 

Didn't honda tuning feature an article a while back where someone was testing boost on a stock b16? Got to like 26psi and ran out of dyno time. Any one else remember that?
