bought a car with lien papers! HELP!?!
The car will always have it's fee from DMV, DMV wants their money no matter what.
As long as the Reg 262 forms he gave you are properly filled out, then it's no hassle for DMV to accept them you just have to pay all back fee's.
This link will tell you how much are due to register

Take the paperwork to Dmv and show the papers to the person at the desk where you get your number. he or she will give you an application for a new title. take the application and the bill of sale to the window, pay your fees and get your temp sticker. smog your car, get insurance, bring back proof of both and get your new plates.
hopefully the tags arent backed like 6 years. i knew a guy that bought a ef from a towyard lein sale for $600. he bragged to me about the steal he got. then when he went to the DMV he had to pay $600 in back fees.
you most likely WONT have to go to the CHP or state ref.
you MIGHT have to pay some back fees though. it should tell you when the car was last registered on the lein paperwork.

sometimes people use a private company to set up the lein sale. try to contact whoever is on the paperwork. talk to whoever did the lein sale. i think you can file a statement with the dmv stating that you attempted to contact the original owner and had no luck. then after a certain period theyll let you register the car.
IM NOT 100% SURE ABOUT THIS THOUGH.
is there a tow yard or a lein sale company on the paperwork?
if you cant figure it out i suggest you just sell it to the next man and let them figure it out.
thats what the greater of the honda game does anyway.
keep us posted, im curious to see what happens.

Damn I saw this car posted too. This guy gave me the run around too but I knew it was a hassle. Good luck tho I say turn it into a track car.
My integra had a lien on it when I bought it. went to dmv filled paper work out and than had to contact the bank that still owned it and I had to fax papers to this bank that was 400 miles away took a few days for them to process but everything was cool no fee's and clean title I was lucky. I did not have to go to state ref or chp.
