buyers order?
I wasn't sure if I should post this in the marketplace section but since I just need input I'm hoping this should be alright... Does anyone know if a buyers order is legit in a private party sale? I'm about to buy a car and the guy won't have the title for another month but says a buyers order will work. Scam or am I just over analyzing?

I would give no funds (other than a refundable deposit) for the car until the title could be produced.

Re: buyers order?
all you have to do is get him to the dmv with you. first you need a registration or any thing
with the vin and his name stating ownership of the vehicle w/ no lien against it. second fill out the affidavit form for lost/stolen/damaged title. third have him sign it in front of the dvm clerk. fourth (most important step) if he manages to get the title have him sign it over to you. that's all you gotta do. 30min in the dmv is alot faster than 1month of waiting.
