Tranny Popping out of 2nd Gear
Alright so Im having this issue with my tranny popping out of second gear so I'll give you guys the run down:
-Its a 92 GSR YS1 Transmisson, which came out of a friend of mines wrecked 92 gsr, to my knowledge it was never opened up before (car only had about 130k miles on it).
-Transmission always had the problem since it was it in his car. After putting it mine I noticed that the input shaft bearing was noisy.
-After taking it apart to change the input shaft bearing, I realised that the diff bearings seemed somewhat worn so I made the decision to replace EVERY bearing in the transmission with new ones from Honda.
- This is the third transmission I had done and I had followed the steps to replace the bearings through the helms but I was somewhat rushed regretfully and didnt inspect anything else while it was appart.
-It will only pop out of second gear UNDER 2000rpm and under NO LOAD. Other than that I have absolutely no issues with grinds or poor shifting with second gear.
-Motor mounts are new and are pretty much solid so thats not an isse (was occuring before and after new mounts). And I am using the original shift linkage that was in my car that had no problems with previous transmissions.
I plan to pull the transmission again to fix this problem and repair the typical high rpm third gear grind. I was just wondering if anyone had some insight as to what I may be looking for. I dont have as much experience as I would like with transmissions so I would like to get some input please. Thanks!

I looked through your thread and it seems to revolve around the counter shaft bearing. Well b-series tranny's have a bolt in plate that stops them from walking out, so I doubt that would be my problem.
What issue with that bearing would cause it to pop out of gear? As I mentioned earlier I had replaced that one with a brand new bearing so I dont believe it can be from being worn out.
