Default I'm working K20/K24 - What can u suggest better - over 8k$ budget

My engine is k20a Type R jdm

I bought a K24z3 accord 2008 with oil jet.
I'm going N.A. for time attack

Will do or buy :
ERL Performance Strocker Kit 102mm (+3mm) crank
Brian Crower rod ratio 1.5
Wiseco 12.5:1 89mm (+2mm) 94 octane fuel
Inlinepro sleeved
8lbs flywheel competition clutch
ssr header 4-2-1, 3''
obx itb 52mm
Supertech valve train +1mm oversize
Drag Cartel Cam stage 4
head optimized to 350 cfm

what do you think ? to sleeve a block because I want 89 bore, is-it a waste of money ?
if I change the crank, is that the gain in hp will be enough to justify the investment
my question is simple, I don't want spend 1500$ for a piece that the win will be 1 hp, may be 87 bore with 99 stroke is enough

Yes, may be you are right
I have the RBC that I can oversized and polished

The reason why I choosen the OBX is because it's a external piece from the engine. So if something goes wrong, i will remove it and i will install my rbc

Anyway, I wondering what will be the difference in hp between the same kind of set-up without sleeve (bore to 87.5mm) and stroker crank (with oem).
if the gain is between 25-30 hp with a bore 89 and a stroker 102, it's a good choice. but if the hp gain is 5-10 hp, I will not do the investment.

Kinsler FTW. What kind of car is this going into? Also, what kind of power are you trying to make?

this is for an all out time attack motor? with refreshing often (bearings & rings & maybe pistons)?

I'd ditch the stroker & sleeves for a good dry sump ($3,500)

no obx itbs

with those big cams & a lot of up shifts & down shifts look into Psi maxlife valvesprings/retainers/bases (often refered to as "indy springs" ) you can get them from/thru Team4piston or thru Hytech get ready to open the wallet $1,000

all in all you are not $8K budget you're much more what is the suspension set up in this car? what about a cage? transmission (dog box? sequential? or a few oem boxes rebuilt often?) any pics?

I did more search since couple days and my understanding; it's not required to bore and to stroke max as possible. The investment will not give me back a huge increasing in hp.
A major gain can be observed with e85 and over 13.0:1 c.r. instead huge stoke and bore

a K24 is allready stroked and get a similar dyno result with oem 87mm and 99mm

so now, will figure the following set-up with the K24z3 Accord oem block and crank :
Will buy :
bore oversized job (+0.5mm)
new connecting rod
new pistons 12.5:1 87.5mm (+0.5mm) 94 octane fuel
8lbs flywheel competition clutch
Supertech valve train +1mm oversize
Drag Cartel Cam stage 4
new cam gear
head optimized to 350 cfm
tuned and dyno
ACL bearing
APR head stud
of course new gasket
Crank balanced job
ERL s2000 oil pump
Toda chain tensionner

Will keep my
RBC instead ITB
BDL T.B. 74mm
Replyca Hytech Header
k20a-r head with all sensor, oil cooling, harness,
k20a-r computer, k-pro
My tranny have Kaaz lsd and Spoon F.D. 5.06:1

I think that this set-up will be in 280 wph range

Similar set-up from k20a.org

why not? obx is a copy of a proven itb's system of hayward itb's . yes they are obx but with the money you save you can have a machine shop go over your itb's. may be few $ x00 buck into machine work. even if that, you're still only in your itb's @ 1000 bucks? compare to hayward itb's 52mm system: $2510.00 USD .... hayward knows that obx is a copy of they're itb's ... im also looking into a set of obx itb's... 599 for obx 2510 for hayward ... you do that math... 2500 out of my range for itb's, good thing they left a big price gap for obx too fill it in for the people who can't afford 2500.

build thread ... user using obx itb's

you just cant put obx and hayward or kinsler in the same sentence...If you cant afford to go itb the right way put a rbc on your car.

how is it not the right way? its has 4 holes right? a flap that open and close. what make obx less of an itb's beside they're name? its a copy of the hayward itb's... that has been proven to work.

your saying that just cause your headers are made BY XXX brand now XXXkidd made a exact copy of Brand XXX Header they wont work cause it was copy by XXXkIdd...

just cause the material isn't the same as XXX BRand they are a total fail?

Not a big deal man...For myself i like to buy from a compagny that have a real r&d team...A compagny that sponsor the drag/road race sport...I dont like to help these "fake parts people" to make money.

Few people like to buy cheap part and some want to help the legit compagny that's all. When you have problem with fake part you dont have any warranty on it so...

if you like obx then good for you man.I respect your choice

even it if fails its not gonna hurt my motor, its just an intake manifold. thanks the the world trade law we can get things for cheaper now. so what just cause its a knock off brand its bad? when the real itb's is priced 5 times more the price of the obx itb's, when a company leave a big *** price gap for the middle man to come in and market another set of itb's for 80% cheaper... yes you can buy 5 obx itb's b4 you can by 1 hayward itb's. im not a big fan of trying to be a boss and spending my hard earn money on my car cause of a brand name. i buy things i know will work not cause of its name or the high price tag its carry.
