B16 Swap Downpipe CX hatch
Planning on swapping a B16A2 soon into my CX hatch, but with the D16Y7 I think the cat is like on the downpipe? Whereas with the B16 the cat is located under the car is it not?
well, i have a ITR swap on my 98 DX (stock Y7) and when i did my swap i had to get a blox test pipe (cause the OEM ITR manifold is 2.5 collector and wouldnt bolt to exhaust) you are going to run into the problem of your B pipe being too long... you wont have anywhere to put a cat lol... unless you get an aftermarket exhaust that is meant to take one....
My current "cat-back" is a little too short as it is, it's a stretch to clamp it down.
Can the Y7 cat just be relocated and welded underneath after the B16 downpipe?
I heard this cat doesn't flow as well as a DOHC vtec cat in the high RPM range?

i would suggest getting an aftermarket hi-flow cat and letting an exhaust shop cut/weld to fit. you may need to modify yout current cat-back as well. shouldn't be too expensive.
i don't think you will find a bolt-on solution since the header length/configuration is different between b-series and d-series motors.

again, with your current components you will most likely need a little custom work. get a highflow cat and have it mated up to the b16 header. some companies sell them with an adjustable flange so it can be positioned properly
