I guess, why are you using those pistons? And what paper are you reading off of? Mind you I know nothing about swapping pistons so these are just the questions I would ask.

yah because the a1 is a dual cam motor and has a stroke of 90 mm and the d15b has a stroke of 84.5 mm.

Maybe you need to get the proper parts list from all the people doing this swap.

It CAN be done, but you'll need the right parts.

If memory serves correctly you'll need D15B VTEC (JDM engine) or USDM 92-95 Civic VX rods to make this work. Keep the 1.5L crank too.

WHICH "D16A1" pistons are you running?

There are two different types. 86-87 "flat top" PG7, and 88-89 "crazy +7.2cc domed" P29 pistons. They yield entirely different compression ratios.

What head are you running?

What camshaft?

CR can either be "not ideal for street use" or "just fine provided your tune is good, and you use premium fuel."

I had "P29" highest-domed D16A1 pistons in an otherwise stock D16A6, and it was a bad-*** running set-up. Lots of fun, and cheap.
