1986 Honda Civic Si 1500 Clutch Problems?
Hi guys,
I got a quick question for anybody who could help me out. I drive a 1986 Honda Civic Si and I recently installed a new clutch in it. Its a cable clutch and when i installed the clutch i thought i could run the adjustment all the way down and as the clutch wears down you can let it up as it wears. But when i have the clutch adjustment all the way tightened the clutch releases right on the floor like it should but when im sitting still at a red light and trying to put it in gear its real tough to put it into gear. But when i run the adjustment out a few turns or even half way like the clutch is old it grabs real high, almost at the end of the pedal and the shifting is easy to put it into gear when the car is stopped. I was thinking about taking the transmission out and putting in a flywheel spacer to get the clutch closer to the fork and that would grab closer to the floor with the adjustment all the way tight, but i thought i would ask around on some forums before i took the transmission out.
Thanks a lot guys.
If anyone has any input it would help me greatly.

You setup the freeplay and make sure the clutch releases properly and engages without slipping. You can't just set the engagement point where you want it (which seems to confuse or **** off a lot of people) If it happens that when it's setup right it engages near the top then that's just the way it is.
Also as has already been pointed out this should be in the classics section.
Edit, moved thread.
