Icon6 VTEC isnt working ?!?!

Hi guys, i have a 97 ls with a full 98 spec itr swap from hmo. I just noticed that my vtec wont engage sometimes. I have plenty of oil in my car and i notice when it doesnt engage.. my temp gauge is still cold. I turn the car on to warm it up for like 5 min..then i drive it and it takes like 10 min or more for the needle to rise .. but it doesnt even go all the way to the middle. Then once it goes to as far is it can.. my vtec starts to work.. whats the problem here and how can i fix it? is some sensor or something messed up. please help me ASAP.. thanks.. dont be an *******.. ahah KINDA new to this

this should have went in the regular integra forum

anyway

you need a new thermostat

what's happening is NORMAL

honda designed vtec not to operate until the engine is at least....what is it? 140-150deg. it's to prevent *** hats from railing on a cold engine.

which if you don't already know is something you should never ever do

R Elitist: "forum title says Acura Integra Type-R, not Honda B18C Spec-R and variants"

And OP, put the VTECH solenoid on a momentary pushbutton switch so you can hit that b1tch all day errday.
