Default D16z6 Build (Suggestions?)

Right now my hatch has a mini me swap thats poopen out bad piston rings and sounds like the head rattles when i get on it.

Im looking at a z6 on craigslist the guy wants 250 for it, and its all complete.

so im thinking about buying that and build it,just dont know what pistons that i should get and what ever else i should do.

Will have pics in a bit.

Thanks.

I hate these kinds of threads. They never list what the plans are for the engine (boost, track/race or daily driving, etc.) or what the budget is. No one even knows what CAR you're talking about.

Post goals...post driving style...post budget...research other builds that have similar gains to what you're expecting...see what they did. How many miles does this z6 have...or at least how many does the seller claim it has? Complete as in ECU...harness...everything? What kind of car is it going into...what kind of engine does the car have now?

I'm glad my engine doesn't poop anything as well....

everyone like's eagle and wiseco (lightest and been around for years) setups if ur wanting to build. some go cheap with the vitara and eagle rods. im about to build my z6 very soon with wiseco and eagles myself. for a street car anything just over 300 is enough for the street or daily driver.

notch the block too for the eagle h rods, plenty of diy's about that easy to do if u have a dremel to your advantage before it goes tot he shop. if ur going to rehone and stuff id go with boring it to 75.5mm. i got the y8 std bore pistons to use in my z6.

prob would cost about 350 or so to bore and hone. if u want to stay with standard size pistons .if u still see no scaring and still have good cross hatching u may not have to do either. many motors have went over 200k and never have been rebuilt or honed. if u still see ur factory cross hatching you should be fine.
