Default fuel cell question

for those running fuel cells (example, nrg, fcs) how do you go about knowing how much fuel is in it and how much to put in it without overflowing it?

I believe for the NRG its designed to be filled every round (and you corner scale the car with a full tank)

The FCS I believe has a provision to use the stock sending unit, or one they provide.

i was wandering with the fcs if you could add a simple one wire gm sending unit like most boat tanks have. you just need about 4 inch's on top to have enough room to drill the hole and weld a flange to bolt the unit to

The way I made mine is to fit the stock sending unit to the top. CNC'd a mounting plate so I weld it on top of the tank and the oem sending unit bolts on to the plate.

I believe msd makes an aftermarket fuel sending unit that isn't so bulky as oem.
