Where can I find the Competition Engineering fuel sump to weld onto my stock fuel tank? Also, what are Honda fuel tanks made out of?

 

Never mind...I was just looking in the wrong places... Summit sells it for $61 for anyone who is interested...

 

Stock fuel tank is steel, you can weld to it. Be very careful though, fumes in the tank can ignite when welding. I don't really know the best way around it though. I cut the hole out of the one i did and ran water through it for about 30min. and then dried it. It didn't explode and i'm still here so i guess it worked.

 

from what i heard, there is a chemical u pour into the tank when it s out..it "neutralizes" the vapor from the tank...this is waht an industrial welder told me...my dad used to weld in the 70's when he came to america and said that they started doin that like 10 yrs after he got out of welding...guess hes lucky?

 

I was thinking about putting one on myself too, but doesnt the addition of the sump on the bottom of your fuel tank now make the car's fuel tank the lowest part of the car? Even better would be to see some pics if anyone has one.
