Default 95 EX MoonRoof

My moonroon is jamming up when I try to open it, I found a good replacement one , was wondering how difficult they are to change out. My rubber moulding is bad too, thats why I thought it might be easier to swap it out. Thanks

You have to drop the had liner, disconnect the power to the roof, remove the nuts holding the roof in place, lower it down and out of the car install is the reverse. It isn't very hard to do it just takes a bit of time

There's a possibility only the sunroof motor is bad, not the assembly.. It's in between the sunroof and the windshield.

It could be a number of issues. Can you be more specific? Where and when is jamming up? When you press the button to open? Before the glass has popped up? When the glass is sliding back?

I have just went through replacing every single component in my si hatch so that it would work properly. I can give you some insight on taking it out. Its not too hard but it does require a nice sunny day and alot of time.

This really sounds like your sunroof motor is going bad. Mine had the same problem. Try replacing it and see if this fixes it.

The Honda Manual calls to replace the cable assembly and the motor.

If one side is sliding unevenly then you will most likely have to take the entire sunroof assembly apart and replace the plastic slider pieces. I realized this after I replaced every single piece except the plastic slider pieces. These slider pieces ware down over time and create very slight play which contribute to the offset. So with the offset the sunroof doesnt open evenly and the lifter scraps the roof.

Not too hard. Just start with the lower rear panels and work your way up. There is no way to remove just the headliner without removing the lower panel, the a pillar plastics , and then the headliner.

kick ***...I think my seal went out. Cuz I went to get in my car yesterday and sat in a puddle, and had a soaked carpet! SO start with the lower panels and work up? Pretty straight forward?

I have taken apart a few DC's and started on my EJ1. It is REALLY simple. Just be sure to take your time and be careful when you are prying/pulling the panels out. You will need a philips screw driver, flat head and a few sockets. The sunroof itself is held in by 6-8 10mm bolts IIRC.

You can do it

did it this morning. 10 minute Thanks to an online manual I found. No need to remove any panels for the sunroof itself. I just pulled the 2 screws to remove a cover, 8 bolts for the sun roof and lifted it out. Found my left front drain was clogged. I just poked at it with a pick til it started draining. Then shot it with compressed air (can). Just gotta pour water to verify as someone recommended

grrr...thanks for the suggestion. The drain is either slow or still clogged. I read other posted where its a PITA to get to
