Default All motor B18C1 setup

Hey everybody, I'm finally making some good money so time to decide what to buy for my GSR. As of right now all i have is an Iceman CAI and 2.25" ITR b-pipe with Apexi N1 muffler. These are some others items i am contemplating, let me know your opinions:
ITR cams (most likely 00-01) Should i upgrade valvetrain in case i ever get something like Skunk2 stage 2?
JDM ITR 4-1
Carsound cat
ITR pistons (not sure US or JDM)
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Some type of Vtec controller, maybe Apexi but not sure wether i am supposed to get SAFC of VAFC (whats the difference)
OBD II to OBD I with either Spoon or Mugen program
That is all i can think of but i know there is more, I don't want something crazy, still want it to be daily driven. Also what should i limit my compression to since in So Cal we only get 91 octane? Any suggestions and advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Basically looking for my car to get into high 13's. Will be doing simple weight reduction like CF hood, maybe lightweight rotas with sticky Azenis.

Also plan on getting some type of motor mounts, an LSD (which one is best?), lighter flywheel, and stiffer clutch.

maybe u should get a really good manifold. something bigger than 64 or 68mm. lsd... dang, depends how much control u want but mine is phantom and i'm happy with it so far.

phantom is not an LSD. it sucks d?ck. get at least a honda LSD. and if youre gonna take the head off upgrade the rest of the valvetrain now.

OBD I and JDM header wont pass emissions either, i'll figure something out later about smog

That's true about the header, the 2.5" collector isn't SMOG legal. Anyway. The ITR cams are nice, I'd get the Skunk stage 1 instead though. But if you are planning on getting stage 2, then forget that. Especially if you are serious about putting money into the car. With the upgraded cams, look forward to getting a new fuel setup too. Once you get past your bolt ons, everything needs to be done almost together to get good gains. Otherwise plan on you car being weak at points until all work is finished.

well if u plan on staying all motor
get JDM ITR pistons instead of USDM ITR pistons (11.5:1 vs 10.8:1 CR)
hi flow cat to go w/ JDM header
better exhaust like SMSP exhaust
valve train only if ur changing redline. id recommend portflow or ferrea.
get some retainers too.
stay w/ ITR cams or Toda A's cams
cam gears
VAFC controls fuel and vtec xover. SAFC controls fuel but not vtec.
u may want to look into some standalone like hondata or AEM EMS.
and lots of dyno tuning.

You can get Hondata's new S200 system for LESS than a V-AFC, and get a LOT more tuneability. I'm sure there are places in Cali that will tune it for you too. HondaSaver is currently having a GB on S200, so you will get a good deal. You will also have to get an OBD II->I harness but I believe that will still cost less than a Spoon/Mugen ECU, and once again full tunability = more power.

I would upgrade to Portflow outers/ITR inners (I may have those 2 mixed up). It's the valvetrain setup a lot of people are using, cheap and lets you rev high enough for most cams. Although, if you are wanting to hit 13's, you might need something more agressive than ITR's. Skunk2 stage 1's are a bit more aggressive (I have the stats somewhere) and allegedly have stock idle. If you want really wild cams, check out the "US4" setup Rocket at HondaSaver is developing. It makes more power than JUN 3's but for only $700.

HTH. I don't think I forgot anything..

Hmmm, any more info on this S200? Also yea, I'm pretty sure that I will end up getting Skunk2 Stage 2.

Check out all the cool features

Those are pretty aggressive. You will probably want to upgrade to a stronger timing belt (Power Enterprises makes one). And like I said, check out the new HondaSaver cams: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=282404 has all the info. These look very promising, and you can get the cams and valvetrain for $825. Skunk2 will run you about $1030 for Stage 2's and valvesprings. For comparison, that dyno uses JUN 3, which is almost identical to Skunk2 Stage 2.

Valvetrain is valves, valvesprings, valve guides and rocker arms. Usually when upgrading a valvetrain people just replace the valves and springs. Stiffer springs allow you to rev higher safely, and oversized and/or specially cut or polished valves can help improve air/fuel homogenization. Also, in NA applications, flat bottomed valves will raise the compression ratio slightly (stock valves are domed).

I would recommend Skunk 2 Stage 1s over Stage 2s. Another member on this board known as "MPH" made 198whp in his ITR with the Stage 1s with a stock bottom end. If you build your B18C1 with ITR internals and get some Skunk 2 Stage 1s, you can pass smog and run 13s.

is OBDII->OBDI swap really needed for N/A with VAFC?

you are going to have to search each individual part

It comes down to what you are trying to accomplish and your budget as well as tastes

I posted my setup in your other post, that after countless hours of looking here, and talking to places on the phone.
expect to pay at least $5-6.5k after you are all done
