not enuff ve tables (s300 u can use a 5 bar and edit it to 3 bar readings)
doesn t have lean cut(v2 does but doesn t work) s300 lean cut works wonders
to view log u have to save and open up (s300 log u can view on same screen rite away)
no secondry vtec table so u have to launch in vtec

the new aem 4 looks nice as well

aem v1 i do not like boost by vehicle speed sensor at all

ide rather have boost by gear set it up and walla you dont need to achieve a speed for boost

So get a v2 you get boost by what ever u want but boost by speed its the way to go my men besides that aem got more features then s300 like boost trim comp egt feedback ind cil fuel trim and ign trim etc etc

i did not ask if you thought i should stick with it as apposed to switching to something else

I agree with Abraham, he know's his ****. The V2 box seems to have better upgrades, but from what I'm hearing from some people, they're having issues with it right out of the box. My biggest issue with AEM EMS is not be able to connect to the ECU, it's always been an issue and I have no idea... Changed laptops and serial connectors. That and my wideband... Anyway, that's just one of the issue's, if AEM can get it together... It's an amazing ECU, I love how easy it is to use, functions and capability is great. I would say it's the best ECU for the money. I just bought a V2, but I haven't gotten it yet so I'll keep everyone posted...

the series 2 box i have read alot about people having issues yes, and the series 1 as well
now the series 4 is out, and i was absolutely liking what i was reading on it and the video, but with the issues with 1, and 2 im not sure about it.

i would just go with a s300 bang for bucks imo. if u dont wanna spend the money on a v2.
I havnt had a problem with mine.

Or use the rear abs sensor as your vehicle speed input for the aem? It's non driven and won't increase boost if you spin like the factory one in the tranny.

Its easy if you can somehow adapt a set of OEM ABS rings on one of your rear hubs and then just add an OEM sensor and run the 2 wires up to the ECU, I wouldnt even consider using speed based boost if it was getting its reading from the VSS.

this sounds nice im thinking more simplistic im not one gunning to run low 9's or 8's at all

just want to get my short track down, and so far the culprit is launching at 7500 and dropping to 3500 rpm's and something non vss dependant would be easier for me to adjust myself

While the AEMs hardware reliability is sub-par, when it works, its a good ECU for the money. I've tuned many many V1s and a handfull of V2s. There are alot of things you can do with the AEM that you can't do with the S300, and boost by rear wheel speed is ideal for a FWD car. We're running ProEFI on all of our current and future projects.. Its pretty much the baddest EMS for the cost and does EVERYTHING you need for a street car to a full out 3000HP drag car. Plus the manufacturing of the ECU is top notch and they have had 0 hardware failure issues. I actually had the 5 volt supply shorted on my drag bike for a good 20-30minutes one day without realising it while I had the key on and was working on somthing else, found the short, fixed it and the ECU still works flawlessly.

You can't beat the flex fuel option, traction control, time based launch control, Variable Gain PID boost control, etc etc etc that the ProEFI offers.. The thing even has Variable gain PID based Antilag.. And thats not even half of the features.

I'm looking at getting a 95 Supra that has a AEM V1 in it. From what I've heard it's harder on the shifts and I should switch that out to V2? I haven't read every single comment, so forgive me if this has been mentioned?
