I did a y7 to y8 head swap on my 98 civic for vtec and everything went alright but Iam losing oil somewhere about a quart every 2 weeks can anyone help me out with where im losing it at or tell me whats wrong.
clean everything off as much as u can and maybe put a piece of cardboard box below it when u park and trace it. that much oil id take a guess as rear main or a front seal or something. could be anything even ur oil pan seal. you need to direct us to maybe what area of the engine u think is leaking or has burnt oil on it. Or maybe ur dusting the road with a bit of oil because ur rings are blown burning it off.
is ur rear bumper black around where the exhaust gases come out? mine burns oil too, found out it was my valve seals .. id say do a dry and wet compression test (to check if ur piston rings are bad) then go ahead and do a vacuum test too (that pinpoints if u have any valvetrain parts that are bad) .. check ur pcv valve as well .. if thats clogged it'll keep the pressurized crank vapors to blow out ur seals in the block .. visually check any place on the engine if u can see anywhere its leaking oil ..
