No Heat! Please Help!
I have a 93 DA with no heat. Actually if you crank it up in the morning and let it sit for about 15-20 min. the heat will work. But, as soon as you hit the gas it wont idle down past 2000rpm and the heat no longer works. I have been told that the ac/heater controls run off vacuum? maybe the car has a vacuum leak? Or the fast idle valve is faulty? Please Help!

After your car warms up the iacv controls the idle speed. As for the no heat the heater core may be bad, thermostat could be bad. Do the blowers work?

Blower works. i have heat when the car finally idles down but its like when you hit the gas it doesnt want to idle down and thats when the heat dont work...as far as it staying at running temp idk, the gauge doesnt work...i have the fan straight wired.
OEM thermostat or a cheap parts store replacement? The cheap ones tend to fail easily especially when it's cold out. Try cleaning the iacv but that wouldn't cause the heat to go out. Make sure your coolant is topped off and there are no air bubbles in the system.

might not be the thurmo if his temps are not changing. from your climit control there is a wire that attaches to a valve in the engine bay. sometimes that can break. try moving it with your hand and see if you get heat or not. should have two hoses one running into it the other running out and then into your firewall. this is all assuming its the same from the DC to the DA..... this is what worked for my no heat prob.
yes. check the operation of the heater valve.
if all seems fine there, with the engine at operating temp, check the temperature of the inlet hose at the heater core. then the outlet hose. they should be roughly the same temp. if the outlet is cooler, you have blockage in the core.
if there is blockage, you can try blowing through it with compressed air. make sure to blow into the outlet side, to force the blockage back out the inlet. sometimes it works, sometimes not. in which case the dash would need to be pulled

I had this problem. No air was coming out of the vents until i drove the car for about 30 minutes, then hot air would start coming out. I found out the blower motor was on its way out because eventually nothing would come out of the vents.
