Default E85vse100

so we all know e85 demands an agressive fuel system, but how much more if any does e100 demand over the 85???

i max out at 850 with 2200cc and Aeromotive Pro Pump, I plan to get a voltage booster to get it more volume. Im sure e100 would max at 775-800MAX

I maxed out my old school Precision 1600cc injectors, and Weldons biggest baddest electric pump with E100 in my Subaru. I'm not sure the exact power because we didn't get it back on the dyno, but it was only a 10 second car. I noticed it to be quite a bit more demanding than E85

My advice, if you are going to run alcohol, don't mess with electric pumps. Honestly, I wouldn't even think of running alcohol again without a mechanical pump.

I am pretty sure the rules for the classes we race in do not allow a mechanical pump, would be nice if they did though. Not to familiar with them, can they be run on the street?

I would think the extra fuel demand for e98 (cant get e100 unless you make it yourself) wouldnt be much greater vs e85, its only has 13% additional ethanol. I think I made about 40-50 more hp over what I should of made with RC1000's and ethanol but I was running E70

I would doubt E100/98 would be allowed in those classes then if they don't allow mechanical. It wouldn't make any sense to allow alcohol in a street class then say you can't run a mechanical pump. I ran a mechancial pump on the street in my Subaru and it worked great. Domestic cars had mechanical pumps on their stock cars in the 60's.

Not sure on the rules though, I stop building my car around any sport compact rules because they come and go so frequently it seems.

yeah i have been tossing around the idea of a weldon pump, but alot of people seem to have great success on the aeromotive pumps like i have so 2200's it is.

i asked about e100vse85 because i know some people have changed over and just dont seem to be where they was on e85

whats the main differance the amount of heat built up in the elcetric causing it to become weak and stop being able to produce the amount of consistant pressure, or does a mechanical pump have adjustments allowing you to dial it up quite a bit

A mechanical pump flows more the more you spin it, the more pressure you run. An electric pump is the exact opposite. The more pressure you run, the less it flows, the more amperage it draws, etc. That is the advantage of a mechanical over an electric (shorten cliff notes of course) lol

I've maxed out 2 intank walbro's @ 870hp on E85.
FIC2150cc injectors @ only 68%.

if you cant run a mechanical pump, just run a weldon 2345 or a MagnaFuel 4301 and be happy.
these pumps are sufficient to feed 8x160lb injectors on e100 and even on methanol.

Weldon 2345 and MagnaFuel 4301 are almost standard on brazilian drag race cars.

Yes it is more demanding.. 5-10% over E85 is what my tuner just told me...

Its indeed in the 8-13% range. Tested on lower boost levels [15psi]. I dont have this on paper though.
I've also compared e85 against C16 [same engine setup, only different fuel]. There i made the same power on e85 at 6-7psi less boost compared to C16. Turbo spool-up was also 1000rpm faster on e85.
Maybe thats the reason TD also uses e85 on thier 1114whp civic.

Ethanol is good stuff, but 6-7psi difference at the same power level is a bit excessive... are you sure you got all you could out of the C16?
