How can I prevent my tires from rubbing?

Icon2 How can I prevent my tires from rubbing?

i just recently traded someone a set of gsr blades for 16 inch black slips with the tire size of 205/50/16. my car is lowered two inches what can i do to keep them from scrubbing when i turn or drive over small bumps?

sorry i forgot to mention that the 16 inch slips with 205/50/16 tires are on a eg civic coupe lowered 2 inches

tires are way too big for your car. Get different tires, or raise the car up.

And this should have been its own thread. No need to thread jack.

Either 205/40-16 or 205/45-16... the first is slightly smaller and the second is slightly larger than stock tire diameter. 205/40 will ride more harsh than 205/45's.

depends on how low your car is. I've always run 205/45-16 on my Integra and never had a problem, but then again the Integra came with slightly larger tires than your EG did.

yea deff go with 205 45 16 and yea it will stop the rubbing ur other option is rolling ur fenders

205/40-16 is the correct size for eg. if u want to have a bigger sidewall go with 195/45-16

just want to make sure of this before i go buy tires, i should be straight with 205/45/16 lowered 2 inches on my eg and ill have no scrubbing when i turn?

LOL this is the tread that i had to READ before i spent 460 on 205/50/16 new tires .
go with what r.wright suggest 205/40 and you'll be good .

205/40-16 is about 1/4" smaller than stock, while 205/45-16 is about 1/2" larger than stock, so yeah 205/40 would probably be better. Just watch out for big bumps and such. 205/40 tires do not offer much sidewall protection of the rim at all.

dude i had the exact same proplem with my eg coupe..i bought some 16" rota slips with 205 55 16 and the tires would rubb all stupid lol so i went with 195 50 16's kumhos. stopped the rubbing issue and the tire size looks great on them 2. im a semi noob to the game but i've had my share or nooby problems 2. keep it JDM lovin it

lol omg 205/55-16 dang that's like 2 1/2" larger diameter than stock tires. Must have looked like monster truck tires on there no wonder it was rubbing!
