removing paint from OEM civic(eg) ex lip
hiya again! i purchased a front lip from a 94 civic ex. the only problem is that it's spray painted black
. i was wondering how i would remove the paint from the abs plastic lip. i was wondering if anyone on this forum has done it before? i googled around and searched but didn't find what i was looking for. laquer, paint thinner, etc? just worried it might melt the plastic. i'm not looking to repaint so sanding it would be an issue. i just want the oem plastic look to match my side skirts (also unpainted). alrighty thanks in advance!

I was told oven cleaner would do it. Don't know what it would do to the lip though. Doubtful you can get it looking like it was never painted though.
yeah i know what your saying...idk if paint stripper will be the good choice cause it might ruin the lip...try something less powerfull..maybe paint thinner
okok tyty. so put some paint thinner on a rag and start rubbing? you think that'll be okay for the plastic?
paint thinner isnt as strong as paint stripper..so im assuming it wont hurt the plastic..dont qoute me on it thoo..try a small area of the lip first and see the reaction of the thinner on the plastic.. goodluck
