Harness protection
Alright so im thinking of just cleaning up around my k20 a bit and want to do a dyi engine harness tuck, now i have a few questions.
-i notice that alot of the tuck harness use nylon sleeving, do you simply use this around your wires or do you have to put something in between to protect from heat.
-also im running a relocated fuse box and battery, which is under the passenger seat, i was wondering if i could run the wire for the alternator and starter with all the other engine harness wires( wasnt sure if it would screw up signals or be to hot?
PS. the car is an ek

1100+ pages all in one place. I'm sure someone has probably done it already.

Yeah...the stuff that is most popular is called braided shielding...it comes in about a million colors shapes and sizes with all kinds of different applications. They have some with heat shielding...I'm pretty sure most of it is heat-resistant already.
Is this a daily driver? Are both the battery and the fuse box under the seat? If it isn't a daily driver why don't you remove the passenger airbag and put it there? Seems like it'd be ALOT easier to work with, you can use the cover as an easy access. It'd be much easier than removing a seat.
"Sealed" battery or not I don't feel too comfortable with having a battery in very close quarters with me.

My fusebox is in the location of the airbag, and I was told a drycell was fine to put sideways, but the locations are just ideas nothing set in stone, so thanks for sharing your knowledge, Kay so I'll be fine with the nylOn sleving and some quality heaT shrink.
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
Yeah...one of the better, and more popular batteries is made by summit racing...good value. They make an amazing relocation kit too...granted you can make one yourself...it's up to you on what you want to spend and can give you something to look at to model things after.
