Default Please help with CEL

Ok the story goes, A few months back I bought a b20v from my buddy out of his 99 ek hatch. I got the long block and the ecu strapped with the hondata. I put the swap in a delsol I had sitting around and everything was great (NO CEL’s). I just bought my buddies hatch and put the swap back in, when I turned the key over for the first time no fuel pump. After checking all the fuses still nothing so I called my buddy and learned of a kill switch for the pump. I rewired it and now the pump works the way its suppose to. The problem I’m having is there’s a CEL that I can’t figure out, when I flash it via the jumper plug NOTHING the light just goes off. Now my buddy put a stock motor in the hatch between me buying the motor and the car and he had used the engine harness and had no CEL’s. When he had the b20 in the car it had one and he thought it was due to the jumper harness. I had bought the jumper harness and the engine harness from him for this swap. And after one night comparing his new jumper harness to the one I had bought from him, we soon realized there were several wires missing. So I bought a new jumper harness and plugged it in hoping that the CEL was gone but nope it was still there. I tried one more jumper harness and still same result so to make sure it wasn’t the ecu I put it in my 97 hatch and there was no CEL and vice versa I put the ecu from my 97 in the 99 and boom there was the CEL AGAIN.
Like I said he had no CEL with the engine harness I’m using on a stock swap and stock ecu. So the only things that I’ve changed variable wise to his stock swap is the jumper harness which is new now and I had to install a resistor box for my injectors which I had in the delsol with no problems. Is it possible I have something hooked up incorrectly or what???
PLEASE HELP!!! IM LOST AND AM TIRED OF NOT HAVING A CAR TO DRIVE.

Yes ive jumped the access port. The check engine light just goes off instead of flashing the code. And im certain its not the ecu because I put the ecu out of the car im having issues with into my 97ek and theres no CEL and then I put the ecu from my 97 into the 99 (A.K.A the car im having issues with) and the engine lights still on. And I know for a 110% that the ecu from my 97 is clean and clear of codes there for the issue has to be coming from the jumper harness to the motor somewhere.

What is the CEL?

Edit: Take it to a parts store and have them read it. Or borrow one from a friend. Hell autozone might rent it to you.

Lol...picking a user name like alwaysbroken seems kinda like a curse.

Unless you live waaaaaaaay out in nowhere...which being in kansas you might...I'm sure an autozone or advance or something is on your way somewhere...see if they rent out scanners...I rent random stuff from them alot and always get all my money back. Good like.
