B16 Turbo Build
I'm lookn to build a obd0 jdm B16a for a daily driver and boost it. I want to build the bottem end and the top end as well.. I'm lookn for some tech guy to help me with my build. I need help with engine specs as well as help with wat a good bottem end build setup and parts as well as top end. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!!!
Keep the motor stock replace the headgasket and install arp head studs the bottom ends of a b16 are good for 350hp reliably with a GOOD tune and taking care of the motor and not beating the **** out of it every day but if your looking for more power you have to built the motor
You are going to get ALOT of responses on this and just about all of them will be different. Most of it is a matter of peoples personal experience and personal preference. One thing is for sure, for tunability you will definately want to step up to OBD1 in my eyes. I'm not really sure what engine "specs" you're looking for but what you truely need is to get in touch with a local machine shop in your area that has experience with import/ Honda engines.
You can pretty much take your pick from alot of the bigger name companies as far as parts go, aside from peoples opinions most of them are pretty on top of their game for what the average person will use for their car. However, if you're not going to be the one doing most of this labor I hope your pockets are deep.

I plan on doing most of the labor myself because I've done several ef swaps with B16's and B18a's. Even turboed a couple of them. What I'm lookin for is wat options are out there for bottem end. What pistons should I use, rods, crank, main bearings, etc.... Same for the top end. I got a hookup on a local machine shop and speed shop also for installation of the pistons and stuff. I just wanna know if I can get a daily driver b16a turbo with 350 whp.....Thankz for all those who replied to my questions!!
Yes I've seen a few b16 and b18c's that make 350 whp dail driven. All stock except for head studs. My brothers car being one of them he has a jdm b18c with 330hp. And has had for 2 years now. No problems it all comes down to the tune!! And the parts used.. he has rc550 injectors. Garrett 60/trim turbo with tial 38mm wastegate. And precision intercooler greddy blow off valve walbro 255 fuel pump and its tuned on neptune.
Doing swaps and building an engine are two completely different subjects. Your options depend on personal opinion and preference. I would absolutely at the least recommend just a bkttom and top end freshen up. No need to really go completely forged just for 350whp. ACL or OEM would be my bearing choice. Other than that the machine shop will take care of the rest. Plus find a good reputable tuner if you're gonna beat this as a DD

Thanks for the posts guys....you all have been a big help!!! I think I'm gonna go with CP psitons and eagle H-beam rods with a set of aacl main bearing and idk if I want to upgrade the crank or not....what do you all think?
I really don't feel that it's necessary for you to upgrade your crank. I have a Eagle forged for mine but I only went with it because I got it for a STEAL. You shouldnt have a single problem with your stock crank.
Thankx, I did some research and found out that your right about the stock crank...It will do just fine... So can I get any responses on the top end.....what brands are reliable and what cams are good for daily driving but also make some extra hp...thankx to everyone helpn me with your alls posts!!
I would say leave your top end alone unless you plan of really reving past 9k. Alot of people either go with the GSR stock cams or the Skunk Pro 2s which will set you back a little coin. Honda heads are quite efficent from the factory. If you MUST upgrade the springs/ retainers/ valves stick with the bigger names.....SuperTech Skunk 2 ect.
