so i was told...all distributors are internally the same...
my question is...can i take out my ls dizzy abd put it in a gsr dizzy shell?

 

All distributors are not the same inside. What year GSR do you have?
I know the OBD0 ls one is the same as the gen 1 tegs. If its OBD1,than it should work,but IDK. If its OBD2,no the parts won't fit.

 

OBD1 AND OBD2 guts are the same.

You can only use VTEC with VTEC or non-VTEC with non-VTEC

The only thing you can't interchange between vtec and non vtec distributors is the shaft/bearing assembly and the actual housing. CYP/CKP/TDC sensors are all the same as are the coil and igniter between all OBD1 and OBD2 D and B-series distributors (except HX coupes with hitachi distributors)

 

i have a 92 ls distributor, and im gonna be putting a 96 gsr.

 

You can do that, just swap the electronic stuff, keep the mechanical guts. the plug(s) will be different so you'll have to swap them (either depin or cut and splice)
