back in the game again after a few years ...went back to my favorite platform ... ef si.. anyways trying to take care of all the problems it has ... there are a few problems with the drivetrain....and wanted to get some advice please .... first off i dont know what year the d series motor is from? i think its a 92-95 eg motor?? d15b i googled images and still not sure? i need to buy a valve cover gasket . but not sure what year to tell the auto parts store?

 

looks like a eg motor but you need to confirm the stamp on the block and the code on the head...it also looks like its using a d16a6 intake manifold...!!!

 

2nd problem...looks like they butchered the old dizzy.. im not sure about all the obd1 and obd2 ect....but the dizzy is dripping bad..did they use the old dizzy on the new motor instead of changing wiring...i need a little advice thanks SORRY FOR THE BAD PIC BUT....THEY CUT THE MOUNTING AREA COMPLETELY OFF !!?? THERE IS ONLY LIKE 1 BOLT HOLDING IT .THEY JUST CUT IT UP AND PUT IT ON....

 

motor is stamped d15b should i look for a stamp on head?

 

Is there any numbers behind the b if not its a jdm d15b witch came in the egs I belive. From wat I have googled it has 130hp and is vtec e I'm not 100% put that's wat I came up with when I googled d15b so if you search more I'm sure you can find out more

 

D15B is basically a D16Z6 from the 92-95 Civic Si/EX models. You'll need a valve cover gasket for those models. BTW what ECU are you using or do you just have a VTEC activated switch?

 

no its just d 15 b with no # d15b idk lmk guys

 

really i have never pulled the carpet ..just recently got it ..and no vtec switch. i dont even think the selinoid is hooked up. i will post a pic tommorow.
