Obd0 motor into EG sedan, what do I need?
My wife's brother owns a 92 Civic 4dr DX. It has a D15 in it, but was using alot of oil and he eventually ran in to low and f'd it up. Now im trying to find him a new/used motor rebuilt w/ less miles one it. I've come across a few D16s & D15s out of EFs, but are Obd0 not obd1. I was wondering if the I could use one of these and just swap the distributor and intake manifolds from his old motor? Is there some thing else?? Thanks

well consider this.... any EF motor is probably gonna have like at least 150+ thousand miles on it... why would u wanna do something like that, when you could pickup a D15B already OBD1 from HMotors for like 499..?? than only thing you have to swap is trannys, and thats gonna have to be done anyways so ur not really doing any extra work period...

Ok well i've come across three local REBUILT obd0 motors for under $200. Just trying to look at my options and what was all required. THanks

I've done the opposite to fix a friends car (93 B7 long block into an EF and we just swapped everything - i.e. even the coolant pipe, thermostat housing, dizzy, manifold, harness, alternator, crank pulley, Everything) and it worked out OK with no surprises (some of the sensors may have been in slightly different places, but nothing insurmountable)- I'm assuming the opposite would work too...
However, YMMV, I have no experience with exactly what you are doing, so I don't know for sure, just trying to provide what I do know...
