My new Accord's issues
Hi everybody, I'm new here and I bet you are JUST the people to ask all my questions of!
So heres the story, I got a '95 Accord LX (2-door) from a friend for free. Sweet deal, I know.
First thing to do is get it safetied so I went about replacing all the bulbs and such routine things. The right highbeam didn't work even after replacing the bulb and after some stressing and research I found that the right highbeam is wired to the DRL circuit. That's when I noticed that the DRL's were not at all functional! Long story short, I pulled the DRL unit and fixed some hairline cracks in the solder, it all works now, yay!
So I bring the car to get safetied and emission tested. It passed the e-test with flying colors but the safety, not so much.
Here are the issues that needed to be addressed;
front, left upper ball joint,
left side rear bumper is loose,
holes in right side fender
and last but not least.... the brake lines.
I have replaced both front upper ball joints already and the body issues are simple enough to fix. The brake lines are where my problems lie.
Here is a couple shots I took of the line;

I will likely do the fuel lines at the same time (theyre leaking just a tiny bit
). My plan is to cut out the faulty line and splice in some new line.
Thats my story so far, what do you guys think?

Yea, that looks about shot. Stating the obvious, based upon where you live, get the "poly armor" lines when you replace...I would think where you are that is all they sell...lol
EDIT: and might want to add a new coat of undercoating somewhere down the road.

you're kidding? shot?!?!
I didnt find poly armour (though I wish I did) but I got a 25ft roll of steel tubing. Its **** to deal with, but I'm making do. As I type this, I've cut out 2 sections and flared 2 ends, I've got 2 more flares to do, then I can make the replacement line and slap it in.
Then its on to the fuel lines which started peeing in the middle of all this.
I noticed the indercoating and yeah, Ill slap on some more once its safetied.

Not sure where in Toronto you are but I know CARQUEST offers the poly armor lines in the US and I know they have a distribution center somewhere near there so they should be able to special order it next day(?)...yes I was kidding...hey, when is the F1 race in Montreal..haven't been in about 2~3 years, was thinking about driving up either this year or next.
Bit of an update.
I forgot to mention that one of the bleed screws had sheared of leaving it impossible to finish the lines. I ordered a new Wagner wheel cylinder and it arrived today. That got installed. Though I got more brake dust on my hands then I'm comfortable with.

I finished the brake lines today! There were a few leaks but they disappeared with a firm tightening. Now I just need to finish the fuel line and I will be more or less done.
I believe I will use compression fittings on the fuel line because they are considered adequate and I REALLY don't feel like flaring more lines while on my back.

Oh too bad, I'm not ripping it all out now to switch lines. Though, I might seriously consider doing it all again in the summer when my bony *** isn't so cold.
Good to hear, I was hoping maybe I caught you before you got the other size (fuel)....oh, well I don't blame you for waiting. Info for the future. If anything the ones you have should go for at least ~5 years, so it might be someone elses issue by then...good luck and enjoy.
