Started tuning my built b16 today questions

Default Started tuning my built b16 today questions

Ok my setup listed below

b16A2 bored 81.5
11.5 je pistons
eagle rods
brian crower stage three cams
brian crower dual valve springs
93 oct fuel
p28 started off using p72 base map
Tuning on crome pro

thats all you should need to know for the following questions

1. my mbar at idle is around 600- 640 is this correct?
2. my idle starts in the middle of the base map wierd?
3. my tps is reading -4 - -5 % ?

also if anyone has a map already made up that would be close to what i have that would be awsome then i wouldnt have to change to much

1) yes that's correct
2) Where in the middle?
3)Have you calibrated your tps on Crome pro?


Most important upgrade to a better tuning program!

I would also try a b16 map first.

Yes, with those cams you'll have a lot of overlap. This lowers intake vacuum (or increases pressure in the manifold if you want to look at it that way). Since you have less vacuum, your Manifold pressure readings will be further to the right on your map.

where abouts is the tps calibration i see the non honda tps calibration thats it tho

I'm not sure if CromePro has the option but on Neptune you can.

normal with big cams. adjust your tps with a volt meter.

cloviskilla tps is non adjustable i dont think its zero in crome somewhere

i was just told from a guy with rocket motorsport mx24 or whatever he is around 450 mbar these cams could be a tad smaller i guess but shall i proceed with the tune

You may want to check your cam timing. Adjusting the cams for less overlap may increase manifold vacuum as well (but you may loose power if not right)

same thing he said timing marks dead on distrbuter timing im checking on lunch in a hour crower claims these cams preform the best at 0 degrees so im using stock cam gears can distributer timing make this happen?

im tryn to get it somewhat ok to drive to continue breaking it in and bring it to tuner to be dyno tuned

well got it figured out and with those cams my mbar is around 350 at idle even better now to street tune and get her to the dyno woo hoo

i know that its going to be different for every setup, but my crower stage 3's made the best power on the dyno at +4 intake, -2 exhaust.
