iacv bolt?
I know what you are talking about. Do not undo that bolt. That holds the whole piece together. The two screws that you would adjust are either the idle air control screw on the top of the TB, or the base idle screw on the bottom of the Throttle cable that goes around the TB. The base idle screw holds your idle when your cars is totally warmed up. The IAC screw controls the airflow into the IACV.
Idle problems are very common on CRXs. Took me months to track down my problem. It was a mixture of a dirty IACV, low coolant, and Idle improperly adjusted. If I were you I would check the coolant level. Make sure you are not losing any. Our cars need the coolant at the very top to run right. And then either set your idle yourself or go to a mechanic and have them set your idle.

I am trying to rebuild my iacv. The metal screen is almost completely gunked up. I need to take it apart to clean it well. My idle is set correctly I am just trying to get the iacv apart. Thank you very much for the information.

My screen is really gunked up. I cant clean it without giving it a scrub and if I do that it will pop in. You know how it bubbles out? Does it have to? Can I just cut the darn thing out? Why is there a screen?
if you look at a 1988 CRX the IACV was built without a screen. The later models were designed with a screen. Obviously particles were flying into the IACV and clogging it or damaging it. If something big were to fly in there it would destroy the IACV. I have never heard of it happening but I did buy a brand new IACV thinking that would fix the problem I was having, and it cost me 189 bucks.
If you want to take the screen off do not cut it out. Take a pair of needle nose and pull the edge of the screen off. It is not welded in there. It is just pushed in. It comes out quite easily.
But I think the Honda engineers put the screen there for a reason.
