So I was helping my buddy out yesterday and we were working on his b20 because he said it kept bogging on him after he touched some wires near his ecu. so he decided to take his wire harness off his ek to inspect all the wire to make sure they all had a good connections. while he was doing that I did the valve adjustment to it because he said it needed it. after we put everything back together we took it out for a test drive it didnt "pop" vtec but he was it was before we started working on it. So my question is has this happened to anyone else before or know what the problem might be? We checked all the usual things likeoil and stuff please help

 

well seeing has you touched the wiring harness i would start there

 

ECU?

 

Well he says he retaped a couple of wires that had little pieces of wire that were exposed but that was all he found. The car isnt bogging anymore its just vtec's not "popping"

We checked ecu it all looks fine when we opened it but might get another ecu to test it out

 

Check again where he re taped the harness. Some of the inner wires could have broken off. Cut and resolder is your best bet if thats the case
