tapping OEM b series fuel rail for 1/8np fitting?
The OEM b series fuel rail has enough flow for my turbo application, but I wanted to be able to put a turbosmart liquid filled gauge on it. That would require drill/tapping a 1/8np hole.
I'm not even sure if it's a good idea or where on the oem rail is the best location too.
Is it easy to do? has anyone been able to do it?
do you know of any shops that I can send my oem fuel rail to get tapped?

we have did it, you can do it anywhere along the rail. i tend to do it toward the center of the rail or toward the exit. easy to do this with a mill of course
interesting...
I deleted my oem fuel filter, otherwise I would just put one ontop of the fuel filter like many.
how much does machine shops charge to do it?
or is this something i can do myself with small tools at sears...?

mother sucka....
bingo !
thanks man. It probably won't look at nice as having the fuel rail tapped but you can't beat $10.
yeah i really didn't want to get a aftermarket fuel rail cause stock rails are more than enough for my current small turbo kit.

That adapter looks like the best solution.. It will still look like it is part of the rail if you already have a -6AN connection on the stock rail.
so how do you remove the stock fuel rail inlet fitting?
is it threaded on the other side or do I just pull it out with force?

Heat the fuel rail up and get it quite warm, and then the stud should easily loosen off with either vise grips or a 10mm (or 12mm? I forget) stud remover tool.
This shop is located in MN i se you are too.
It says they can run a banjo fitting for stock rail. Great price too!
