Why are you gonna go junk yard turbo on an R? IMO, BIG MISTAKE. If you're going to go "custom" buy a turbo NEW please, not a used one thats 10 years old. It's just not right. You have enough money to by a Type-R, so the least you can do is give it something worth while. I understand SOHC 1.6's using them because its cheap, and they know what they're doing. But you have a Type-R. A Acura/Honda Integra Type-R #206 I assume. Junk yard turbo IS NOT the way to go. If something goes wrong, you can just pick up replacement parts from anywhere. It's not worth it. Good car, ghetto turbo...not worth it at all. Try DRAG or something...
well im deff not getting a whole kit dont got the cash, i want to piece it together little by little
do i have to worry about like certain turbos not bolting up or haveing the same flanges as another manifold and stuff>?

I agree with SideSlide, but if you want to do it piece by piece. Start by buying the exhaust manifold and turbo that fits your car. Go new, or freshly rebuilt. The manifold needs to match your engine and the turbo and be designed to fit. if you go ghetto, try looking at some of the custom pages at http://www.homadeturbo.com and the link in my sig.
They will answer some questions. you might as well read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell so at least you know something.

Dude go for it. Especially if youre going to be runninf low boost... if you really want to crank things up, your best bet WILL be to do things right, but just for playing around, low boost (7-9psi) a junkyard setup will be fine. Just make sure you dump enough fuel, and youll be cool
It's his money, so I respect what he does with it. I'm just giving my opinion. If I had an R, I would by a kit OR custom, but not junk yard set ups...I'm sure he'll make the decision that is best for him, but in my opinion, Do it right the first time.
Junk yard turbos, are good, and YES, I was going to do it. But then I realized, "dayam, I want something different....This T3 isnt cutting it for me...." then you'll have to spend MORE money to get a new turbo, and posibly a New BOV, **** like that....and in the end, you realized that if you just saved a little more, or made another decision, you could of had a full DRAG kit from the beginning...Therefore, I say if you're gonna do something, make sure that you're positive that your decision will be correct. and like I said, its an Integra Type-R. If it were a civic, parts can be found left and right....blow a motor, a new one is $300. blow a Type R for some strange reason, chances are, you wont have the money to get a new one right away....But whatever floats your boat...
