so, like others i have the problem with my heat not blowing at idle. this is also a problem because when i warm my car up in the morning the defrost dosent do a damned thing.

so my idea was maybe, somehow getting a smaller pulley on the water pump to get it spinning faster at idle to circulate the coolant better.

i dont know if this would actually work or what the exact root cause of this issue thats why i put "and discussion" in the title, to sort everything out.

 

The water pump is driven by the timing chain, so the water pump is flowing any time the engine is running.

 

in my manual it looks as if it is driven my the serpentine belt. the thought i had was to make the pulley on the pump smaller to make it spin faster in hopes of circulating water quickly. just a thought, not saying it will work.
