Default Seafoam + wastegate question

Will seafoam clean carbon build up inside a wastegate during a normal seafoam session? I just started getting boost creep last night, possibly from sticky carbon build up keeping it closed... and was wondering if seafoam actually effects anything inside the wastegate.

Please chime in if you've seafoamed and it has fixed any boost creep/wastegate issues.

Thanks.

Seafoamed, did not help boost creep. Car however does run a bit smoother and turbo spools smoother as well.

Only started after I changed my Tstat. Weird, because it was stuck open before, and engine was running under OT and no boost creep.

The tstat may have been on its way out when the car was tuned though... could that have an effect?

Your t-stat 0 relation to boost creep, the cold has made every turbo car I ever drove creep, some more than others. Back 6-7yrs ago my Turbo Integ never even had a t-stat in it and it would never even warm up fully in the winter, ended up blowing that motor from creep. Seafoaming your car in hopes that the small amount of it that was burned and made its way through the wastegate would remove carbon wouldnt of been my first choice lol.

Why dont you get out whatever tool you need to remove the wastegate and see if carbon inside the wastegate is the issue instead of speculating? Thats what I would of done first...

I had been planning on seafoaming anyhow. Motor has ~120k, the head came back from the machine shop about 10k miles ago with a fresh valve job and new valve seals. The wastegate will come off when the new manifold goes on. Right now the car is under 2 feet of snow, so I can't really drive it yet O.O

I plan on checking it out when it comes off =P
