mt mom has an 05 crv awd, and she has been complaining alot recently about the tranny making some weird noise. SO I drove it to work today, and I noticed that when im Doing about 40-45 mph and let off the gas, the rpms drop down to about 1200~1500 rpms and it makes weird thump thump sort of noise. It's almost like the tranny doesnt downshift to 4th gear when i let off the gas , granted it will downshift just fine when i hit the brakes tho. COuld this be any kind of sensor, or something more serious? THanks in advacne.

 

Are there any problems if you run it hard with missing shifts or taking too long?

 

try a transmission oil and filter change? sometime the oil filter gets clogged
