building gsr
just wonder anyone have just rehone cyclinder wall and install oem size piston, have no issue? my budget is so tight, i can able to do this option

posible block guard?
if i can get by just hone and reinstall part and keep it around 10-12lbs i'm good, but of cuz all this will change if i pull the head, and things turn out bore is necessary.
current setup
itr shell with gsr motor and tranny
174psi all the way across on cr test (dry)
motor run perfect no smoke, but when vtec kicks in, i will have a huge blow by, and no power. sometime it will have little more power, then sometime it doesnt, but no smoke on startup or drive it normal, only lose oil and smoke when wot

blox turbo manifold
turbosmart wastegate
i will be running 7psi for awhile till everything running top shape and also upgrade exhaust to greddy tic and act stage2 clutch then may be 12lbs after
also is blockguard necessary???? i have a shop told me is important, that with that i can go 18lbs with setup i got, any thoughts??

if you use forged pistons you,ll have to hone the cylinders with a "stone" type hone to actually remove material to all for expansion of the forged pistons,get a shop to do it...if your compression is low and smoking then the walls are probably out of spec anyway...depending on how bad they are they may be able to remove enough to get them back in spec since you need to remove material anyway...if not you will need to bore them the next size up or maybe more....but you cant just jus a brush hone with those pistons
may be i better just have it bored to 81.5 or specs sheet from arias? the reason is my friend have a set 81.5mm arias with 100miles on them, i would just need new rings, 200 plus rings 120, so 320, so i save about 250, that i could use in machine shop, but then i would spend more to main bearing.
