and my oil pump failed today. i started my car up after school and had 0 oil pressure. got the car towed home and dropped the oil pan, there were metal pieces in the bottom of the pan. they wont stick to a magnet, so i think they are aluminum. the pieces are about half the size of a 10mm valve cover nut, but about that wide. no real clue what they are. the car was driving fine to school and had no issues. when the car started after school, it didnt make any unusual noises and started right up. i cut it off after about 2 seconds of not seeing pressure.

thats weird that the oil pump failed on startup and not while driving or revving high. Evertime i've seen them break was while the car was being driven hard and it usually involved a ctr n1 crank pulley

i just read the original post and all i can say is "wow". that's pretty disappointing after all that work to have this happen. if there was mechanical interference with the head or crank or anything else, wouldn't you guys think it would be audible? i couldn't imagine the piston smacking into the head for 400 miles of driving and not hearing anything strange. this sounds like shitty pistons because of they way all 4 failed the same way. of course cp won't admit to that so they just come up with some bs to tell you. sorry to hear about your misfortune.
