Hey guys,
I searched the sticky DIY threads.... mainly were for carbon fiber or abs crack repairs... I have an OEM 2000 Civic SI front lip I want to repair... not cracked or anything, just scuffed up on the underside and some small gouges in it from previous owner scraping. I am painting the entire car soon and need to know what type of filler is okay to use on the OEM Honda material on the front lower lip, also the prep process for it.
Also, have a little gouge on the OEM rear bumper, what type of filler is okay to use in this situation that will adhere to OEM bumpers, etc.
Thanks in advance.

I've used body filler to fix front lips and bumpers and haven't had any issues. Be sure to scuff the bumper up real good before applying the filler.

Get the 3M stuff. Works great. I would stay away from filler if you want to do it right. Not saying it could not work, but there are better ways to fix it.

the sem stuff is great i recently shaved the licence plate holes and used the sem stuff to fill and smooth it out but it sets really fast and can be sanded with in a few min was pretty easy to clean it up (only bad thing is is smells like crap untill its completely cured about a day or so but its outside so u wont have to smell it )
I always thought these types of fixes expand and contract at a different rate then the bumper material causing the paint to crack unless the flex in the paint will be able to handle it?Just asking out of curiosity
fusor 114 and sem problem plastic repair are good. you will also need all the cleaning and scuffing agents and adhesion promotor to go with the product you are using. dont think you can sand it and just slap it on there. plastic repair doesnt work that way.
Get an old bumper from a junkyard (or a proper plastic welding rod), cut a piece slightly larger than you need to repair yours, weld in. No filler, no worries.
