Default Where is this leak? *Pics*

Can anybody help me figure out where this leak is coming from? Is it coming from the oil pan? If it is why does it look like its leaking from the bolt above the oil pan? Thanks

It would help if we knew what year, model, engine we are looking at.

The leak appears to be above the drain bolt. On the V6, the pressure switches are not directly above the drain bolt. There is a plug above on the engine block; but, my guess would be the valve cover gaskets.

I thought that was the maintenance hole like the F & H Series block where you insert something long to go lock the rear balance shaft til OP said it was a V6.

Yeah, just looking at the pics without knowing the engine for sure was a little confusing. Even in my post above, the plug I placed a square on the diagram wouldn't be for motor oil; probably coolant. Brain fart due to trying to get bearings on which side is which, etc., etc. and what am I looking at.

I still think it may be leaking from the valve cover gaskets, as I don't see anything else it may be from above.

Imma try to clean that area real good tomorrow with engine cleaner/brake cleaner and let the engine run to see where that leak is coming from. Best bet is the Valve Cover Gasket.

That looks like the oil pump gasket not the oil filter housing like shown by #13

To me, it looks like #13 is the oil filter housing gasket. Your leak looks to be further in. It also appears that some type of sealant was used around various surfaces. Is this motor rebuilt?

Either way...on a V6, the thighter space just makes it more fun to fix it.
