00 CIVIC SI starts then eventually dies
Hi guys, I am an dire need of an experts opinion. I have been driving my 00 Civic SI with a JDM B16A for about 2 years now. Recently the car started dying on the road and not starting. I've replaced the battery no avail. Sometimes the car will seemingly run strong for a good part of a day and then die again intermittently.
I took the car in for a diagnostic and the mechanic told me I'm having an electrical problem and he didn't want to work on it. Also, I am having a difficult time passing emissions, the mechanic suggested I have open wiring and am also missing a crankshaft position sensor? Any thoughts on what could be causing my car 2 not start and fail emissions?
OBD 2 Car
OBD 1 Motor
OBD 2 wiring harness
OBD 2 ECU
OBD 2 distributor
Thank You

Hey I had the exact same problem, i have a swapped hatch with a b16A1 and i would be driving and my speedo would go out then after it would die out. if i let it sit and hour or more is would start again but fail shorty after. (due to the batt having juice left and not totally drained. all my friends were trying to tell me it was bad wiring or bad fuses, but all it was is i needed a new ALTERNATOR, and i had to get my batt recharged. easy fix bout 150 at any part shop. if that is the problem make sure to trade your old one in for a smackin discount. hope this helps!
alternator huh.... i will look into this...... I will also come back and post the CEL codes shortly.
Yes, when the car dies and I go to restart the fuel pump doesn't sound like its moving a whole lot of gas, thank you for your time I will get those CEL codes to ya
