Paranoid itr owners...
it might sound like little off topic but it is not. or some of you might think i'm crazy or something but yeah. this is what i think..
how many of the itr owners thought of their car getting stolen before?
and out of those people who thought about it.. how many of them actually got stolen?
do you guys believe in law of attraction?
whatever you think about it will most likely to happen.
you attract what you think about all the time
so when you think about negative things all the time it will come true whether you like it or not.
so for those of you who got the car stolen before.. did you THINK and FEEL and live with the fear of your itrs getting stolen all the time?
do you think you attracted whatever happened?
it seems like everyone that owns itrs are always scared about their car getting stolen ever since i joined h-t back in 2002.
my point is..think positive . getting your car stolen is definitely negative thought.
dont think negative things. dont ever think about your car getting stolen. think what makes you happy.
:D

Fail.
When you least expect it

When you think about it too much

If someone wants to jack your jiit, if you think about it or not it will happen

Seriously. I had an EJ1 and a DA stolen. The DA was in a gated luxury apt. complex and I certainly wasn't thinking it would be stolen. The EJ was in the ghetto and I worried about it being lifted every night, until one night it was. My EM1 was broken into in a gated lot with barbed wire. Trust me... thieves happen.

Are you high? lol
On a serious note, no. I don't believe positive thoughts yield positive results or vice versa.
I never thought my R would get stolen, but it happened.
You can think happy thoughts all you want, but at the end of the day people will still be dicks trying to steal sh*t that doesn't belong to them.

i owned my car since 2001 and still have it.. but maybe now i'm in a smaller city so it's a lot safer than bigger city i think.. but when i used to live in vancouver i went to illegal race to watch for first time and i thought about someone following me home that night. (also gated garage in a apartment) and sure enough someone did follow me home and broke into my caR that night. but coudlnt steal it cuz of immobilizer ..
but i'm pretty sure most of the itr owners are paranoid of their car getting stolen compared to any other car owners lol

so for example mother teresa will not join anti-war campaign because all the main focus is about the war people will still think about the war.. instead of joining the anti-war thing she would join world peace meeting
yeah Not think about the car getting stolen.
Not think about being late.
not not not.
it's all negative.
so instead of Not thinking about thefts stealing your car which is still think about your car getting stolen.
think about your car being there where you parked it. or something. whatever way works lol
i'm not saying if you never think about your car getting stolen. nobody will steal it.
but just saying always thinking about it will attract more of those.
I wasn't too worried about it most of the time, until I talked to a random person about my car and it freaked me out.
I was at a local car gathering at In-N-Out in Santa Barbara, when some guy who was looking at my car came up to talk to me.
"You live on Castillo right? Right by Mission? The house with the Orange tree in the front?"
Lets just say when a total stranger comes up and tells you that they know where your car is every night, even when it spends 100% of the time at that location in the locked garage, that you get paranoid. Innocent intentions or not, the fact that someone was paying that much attention really freaked me out.

^^that's just creepy.
While it's at home, I generally never think about it. It's when I go out to public places/parking lots that I keep more alert. Status checking, glancing out the window, etc.
I definitely don't like the feeling when someone knows your house has an R - it can be unsettling. I was working on my car on the driveway once, car up on 4 jack stands, and I noticed a jeep pull a u-turn and stopped 2 houses down. I got up immediately with 2 of my buddies because I had a feeling. Walked to the sidewalk, and there he was, walking towards my house. Cut him off at the front yard where my car was just out of sight.
"Hey bro, do you want a Type-R motor? I've got lots of parts for Type R's"
"Umm...no thanks, I'm good."
"What kind of car you got there?"
**my Type-R stickers didn't give it away??**
"It's my buddies car, just a normal Integra" ...
**dude pulls another u-turn and looks at the car again**
Definitely got scoped out. Unsettling indeed...but it's the price we pay for owning these cars. The harsh reality that we all know but for the most part ignore. Just have your security up to where you are comfortable, and if the worst happens, at least you tried.
But to stay on topic, I believe thinking about it, better yet believing it, can have adverse effects on your life - since you potentially can change your actions based on your mindset.

yeah samething happend to me
i was working on the car in my garage and left the door open a car stops and guy just stares at my car for a while i walk up to him and he takes off...
i hated it but one day i left my garage open all night cuz i forgot to close it and left the car window down / unlocked. nobody came in .. so i'm sure my area is safe.. so i stop worrying about thefts

I don't even have an ITR and I live in Oklahoma and the thought of my car getting stolen haunts me in my dreams. I seriously wake up in the middle of the night about once every month for the past 4 years to make sure my car is still in the garage after dreaming about it getting stolen. Every time my wife hears a 4 cylinder car with exhaust drive by she looks out the window to make sure it's not a broke *** Honda thief on our little quiet street. Drive a modded Honda no matter what model and thoughts of your ish getting jacked will at some point run through your mind.
I dont really beleive in the whole "law of attraction" thing. The first few months i had my R i was scared to take it anywhere... ive had a couple of theft attempts but luckily nothing ever happened. I daily drove my R for over a year and i would say i was paranoid almost the entire time... everytime i walk away from my caR i think about it.
I bought a new DD (73 Datsun 620) but drove my R last night because I hadnt driven it in a couple weeks. I went to the movies last night and left it in the parking lot. i said to myself its a wednesday night, its dark cold, and raining. I had a front row parking spot, and if they really want it they'll take it, im going to watch a movie, f*** it. Ive got full coverage. Im not going to let the idea of theives ruin me driving my R. I bought it to drive it and Ive put over 30 thousand miles on heR since i bought it.
If my ITR ever gets stolen, ill take my insurance check, buy another R, and start the build over. Not saying i wouldnt freak out if it did get stolen, but in SoCal, ITR or any Honda with decent parts on it will get stolen. Cars can be replaced, they are not going to "run out" of ITR's for me to buy. I'll drive what i want to, where i want to, and when i want to. Its just a risk worth taking sometimes but thats just part of owning an R.

I would just note. Don't go around showing off your car...strangers will be friends and they'll spread word, about knowing a type-r owner and sooner or later these words will reach a thieves ear.
itr1244, you're a veteran member here. Haven't we been down this road a million times already?
Law's of attraction? Dude c'mon man get real.
Reasons ITR's get stolen:
1.Geographic location
2.Self cannibalizing Honda "tuner" scene full of urban lowlives and rednecks.
3.Parts are interchangable with every God damn civic/crx/integra/crv made from '88 to '01.
4.Easy to steal, especially when compared to todays cars.
5.Huge demand on the black market for ITR specific parts.
6.JDM Hermaphroditeism. (really)
7.Very few ITR's to begin with, so they are a rare sight, which means the cars location is burned into the brain of a would be thief the instant the car is spotted stationary. In some cases they'll even follow you (I used to have fun with those
)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aluminum bat in the back seat, Urban ITR ownership 101.
Taking your wife to the mall to exchange a garment while you wait outside in your R, not fun.
Dusty bums gawking at your car in the mall parking lot like it's a meal ticket, pissin me off now.
Caving in the windshield with a bat of the slammed 4 dr civic on steelies that's been following you since you left the mall, and, watching the would be thieves cower at NYC's own Texas Law Man.....PRICELESS!!!

Hey to each his own. I guess I don't believe in Karma or attraction since I see way too many wicked people both, in everyday society and in the public eye that are very evil, yet Karma never seems to catch up to them.
I believe in survival of the fittest/best informed.

good to see Dr. DC2 is back
and yea, when I drive the R for a weekend warrior day around town, i make sure no modded anything is following me for more than 3 turns. i dont care if he wants to race (i dont do that ****, i would take it to the track if it was closer) or what. if he wants to check out my car, i'll be more than happy to pull to a random parking lot and just chat. but if he starts following me again or asking where i live or what meets i go to etc, i'm gunna take I-78 and floor it. since i know where every exit leads on 20 miles of that highway, i'll take a random one and run circles around them.

I watch my *** but around where I live there is very little theft. Not like there is to the south of me. Luckily my dad owns a farm with enought barns and acreage to hide/work on my ITR without a road in sight. Guess I'm lucky. My full coverage for my ITR with no deductables is like $800, that says a little about what the insurace company thinks.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
I sleep in mine with a gun. I woke up once and the car was gone and the seat I had been sitting on was a stock eg seat. My gun was replaced with a (delicious) sandwich. My deep sleeping ability is a blessing and a curse.
