Default B18c or f23/h22?

Hi.
I am wonder about the engine choise for my build.
I can obtain a b18c sleeved block but my impressions of b series are that it screams in very high rpm but it produces very low torque. Overall hp aren't very high. There are many parts for these engines.

I am thinking to switch to f23 block with h22 head. I am reading that these engines producing high hp with very good torque. I know that f23 has very bad rs ratio. I am thinking to install a deck plate and sleeve it to get ~1,7 rs ratio and this may help high rpms.
I read that h22 has very bad rocker wearing problems. Is there any fix except of switching to nonvtec rockers?

Dosen't matter the engine it is going to be turbocharged.

I am going to install the engine in eg chassis. I want good, strong, reliable and powerful engine for road racing and street racing. If i can i will take k24 but the gearbox that i have to use is for engines that rotates counter-clockwise. So i can use h,b,f and etc. The biggest displacement that i know is f23 block + h22 head or b21 (bored, stroked b18c) is better?

What would you advice me to do?

Thank you.

get a b20 dart block(tall deck) and use a 92mm stroker will give u around 1.7rs ratio and like 2.1 liter displacement...will be cheaper at the end then getting f23 deck plated and sleeved and u still have to get custom pistons and rods..and the dart will handle all the boost u can throw at it..B series are the way to go specialy if u want it to be reliable..parts are off the shelf for any 92mm or 95mm stroker so no need for custom one off parts..if u break something you can just order that part..go on honda-tuning website endyn built an allmotor 92mm b20 dart block for them..

I am not sure which will be cheaper. To weld a deck plate and install sleeves on f23 is going to be ~ 650$ for me. dart block is????
Yes endyn did it and he can not touch h22 hp numbers

There are no rocker wear problems in an H22. The rocker arms are the same for H22 and B-series. Only the middle rocker is appx. .020" wider.

If you are after something that can handle high RPM, with a reasonable R/S ratio I would use a straight H22 and avoid the F23 block. It has 90.7 stroke and is happy at 9,500+ RPM.

A very reliable H22 can be built if you use the right components. Sleeve it, align hone the mains, use OEM bearings, balance the COMPLETE rotating assembly and it can and will live through whatever you decide to put it through.

yo said doesnt matter the engine its going to be turbo charged...so i gave you a good combo but just go straight h22 if your convince you want that doesnt matter when turbo..h22,f23,b18 they will all make similar power when boosted...b series have more choices of cams, rods, cranks, blocks are cheaper and easier to find, and their is a reason people go h2b...trannys are stronger...the fastest hondas in the worlds are b-series.....if you went allmotor then h22 would be a better choice the b20 but for boost i would go b-series all day...

I couldn't have said it better Reid! There is nothing wrong with an H22 so you wont be disappointed.

If are the same that would be a problem. H22 uses much stiffer springs
