99 Accord 4cyl - typical auto tranny is going away, car has ~115K on the clock. Otherwise, nice car, everything works etc. 24 yr old daughter's car. I have done a lot of automotive work, built 4X4s etc, but dont know much about hondas. Did a auto to manual conversion on Toyota 4Runner.

What's involved in tranny conversion on this car? Are pedal hangers there? Will the ECU freak out? What about linkages and such, does the auto car have all the same mounting points for the manual tranny, or are the bodies different? Im pretty sure I can find a wrecked 99 manny tranny and buy the whole car, then sell back what's left over....

Any help, advice, insults, incantations etc would be appreciated. I searched and found tons of useless info, nothing specific on this.

 

Its basically a clutch change.If you can change a clutch you can swap that accord to manual. I did it to my 96 accord.


You need the shifter, cables, pedal, 5spd brake pedal, clutch master cylinder tranny with slave, custom ss clutch line, and a driver axle with matching intermediate shaft.

 

is it the same for a 90-93 accord beacuse im looking for a 5 speed trans and interested to do the auto to manual swap. so if you could tell me exactly what i need to do the swap
