k, for the record,

i know you use a ls waterpump with a ls belt
and you use a typeR/gsr/ vtec waterpump with the matching belt

i got that lol

but what happens if you mix them?
how will the motor run?

has anyone ever made this mistake? lol

 

not quite sure but if the teeth are different the timing will be affected

 

timing will be off. ls pump has diff teeth count sooo thats why you dont use it

 

the reason is the pump goes too quick and you get bubbles in the coolant doesnt effect timing tho

 

Timing won't be affected. When you time your engine, you don't line up your water pump. You can't mix the ls water pump and type r belt because the belt is too long and you won't get proper tension on it, if any at all. The ls water pump has a smaller gear than the VTEC water pumps.
