Default H22 Info needed

I'm planning to get some more compression out of my H22. Ive been thinking of using the H23 crank but only thing I'm not sure of is which rod to use, and what the compression would be for each rod. I've searched all over the forum and there's not many people confirming what they say.

If you want a higher compression why not get some type S pistons. Using a 95mm stroke seems like a lot of work to get a higher compression.

Are you looking to go aftermarket parts or OEM, becuase they don't all mix and match, Press fit vs floating pistons for example. If you go aftermarket that isn't as big of an issue becuase you can get the parts that match.

There are a few different setups you can go for with a 95mm stroke in an H22.

• 95mm crank + 50mm main H22 block + H22 Rods + H22 pistons = Piston coming out of the hole 1.5mm. Could be some clearance issues there!

• 95mm crank + 50mm main H22 block + stock F22/H23 rods + H22 pistons = Piston out of hole 0.5mm, and OEM H22 pistons are floating wrist pin while OEM F22/H23 are press fit Rods IIRC. This can be resolved with aftermarket rods and pistons that use the same wrist pin style.

• 95mm crank + 50mm main H22 block + stock F22/H23 rods + H23 = Stock H23 w/VTEC (9.5:1 CR)

• 95mm crank + 50mm main H22 block + stock H22 Rods + Custom Forged pistons (29mm CH) = 0.0mm piston to deck height, whatever compression you want, what ever wrist pin style you want.

I'm sure I've probably missed some stuff and there are probably more combos out there, find some formulas, parts measurements and do some math. That's how I ended up with my setup.

Type S pistons would probably be your easiest and best bet.

Type s pistons + 2 layer head gasket + supertech hi-comp valves = 11.5 c/r
Modifications may be required for fitment to 92-96 or OBD1 H22As.

Check the FAQ in the prelude forum. There is a lot of info on the H23VTEC hybrid there.
