Default P4A Tranny disassembly

I am pretty sure I have a 3rd gear synchro bad in 1997 P4A Tranny. I have it on the bench, and have they two halves about 1/2" open. Something is holding the halves together. Any one have an ideas? I am at a loss.

You need to expand and remove the snap ring.

Click the FAQs sticky at the top of this subforum. Then go to Manual Transmission > Removal & Disassembly > see top two links
